As an extension to an existing programme, Critical Care International offered to provide advice for cases in which community nurses required like guidance. Each case has been discussed with the client community liaison teams in order to ensure that actions would not adversely impact community relations and we have assisted with a range of community patients including new-born babies, rape victims, seizures, drowned dredgers and trauma patients following incidents such as artisanal pit collapses and motorbike crashes. These cases have provided our client with a greater insight into the challenges the community face and have helped the client to develop appropriate community development projects in the future.
