Critical Care International has been delivering onsite medical support for a large-scale engineering and construction project in West Africa since 2016. This period has seen a site workforce expansion from an initial exploration team of 30 to 1,100 workers at peak construction intensity.
To optimise workforce safety during this dynamic period, CCI deployed UK-trained doctors to design and staff a new clinic, develop site specific medical emergency response plans (MERP’s), deliver primary and emergency healthcare as well as onsite health promotion, occupational health and a comprehensive sustainable community healthcare development programme.
Additional efficiencies included better onsite diagnosis and treatment, a reduction in absenteeism as well as a reduction in unnecessary referrals and evacuations.
